Care and Maintenance

Care Guide

Because every Adjeley piece deserves gentle love and care

Each Adjeley piece is made by hand in Ghana  shaped, polished, and finished with care using locally sourced materials like wood, coconut shells, beads, rhinestones, resin, fabrics, calabash, and gold-plated brass.
These materials are full of life and character and just like you, they deserve to be treated with love.

Here’s how to keep your jewellery looking its best for years to come

General Care Tips

  • Always store your jewellery in a dry place, away from humidity and direct sunlight.

  • Avoid contact with water, perfume, oils, lotion, or sweat, as they can dull or damage the finish.

  • Put your jewellery on after applying perfume, creams, or hairspray.

  • When not in use, store each piece separately in a pouch or soft cloth to prevent scratches or tangling.

  • Handle pieces gently  remember, they’re handmade works of art.

Material-Specific Care

Beads & Rhinestones

  • Handle with care, avoid dropping or scratching against hard surfaces.

  • Clean with a dry microfiber cloth or a slightly damp (never wet) one for rhinestones.

  • Do not expose to harsh chemicals or alcohol-based sprays, as they can loosen the glue or dull the shine.

Resin

  • Avoid hot surfaces or prolonged sunlight heat can cause discoloration.

  • Store separately to prevent scratches.

  • To remove light tarnish, mix a few drops of lemon juice and water, dab gently with a cloth, then rinse and dry completely.

  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishing agents  they can wear off the gold layer.
